Great a/c so far. Very quiet.

by:

Cools very well. It is so quiet compared to old Dometic.

Product looks great. I have not gotten to install it yet, but it came with everything I needed to get the install complete. Very fast shipping. E-Trailer is a good company. Even better they are based here in Missouri and not some foreign land.

by:

I am very happy. Pretty much a snap to install and works very well.

Bought this to replace junk GE unit. Install was very easy but instructions are questionable. You can look at my review of the ceiling control/Air box for more info, but there was really nothing to install the roof unit. Seems to work great so far, but it's still winter in Florida and I just installed, so I guess we shall see.

The poor rating is not for the chill cube itself. I have know idea how good it is or isn’t. I waited for months for this come to the market. Now that it’s here and I was finally ready to buy it I made the mistake of purchasing the unit by itself. Before I realized that it didn’t have everything I needed I had already removed the old one from my roof. Once I realized I made a mistake I ordered the air distribution box for a ducted unit and it said it would ship next week. Just got an email that they will not have the ADB in stock until May 1st. If it simply said out of stock I wouldn’t have ordered. The fact the chill cube just came out and you sell the ADB and the unit separately is completely ridiculous. How many people are intentionally ordering them separately. If it is as good as it’s supposed to be there shouldn’t be any replacement ADB’s sold separately only a couple months after release. I will never order from etrailer again.

Installed today on my class c motor home. Took about 3 hours. Had help from a neighbor to exchange the ACs to and from the roof using an extension ladder and a rope. Once the Furrion unit was in place I was able to seal up and make electrical connections myself. Only wiring to do is the 120 volt connection to the provide terminal block. Other wiring is to premade connectors between the unit from above to the cover for the ceiling. Just need my wife to hold the cover grill in place for the final screws. Ran unit for couple hours after. Runs much quieter than the old unit and draws less watts from my solar panels. All good. Ready for our 6 week trip which we will boondocks many nights.

Coleman 15K to Furrion 18K?
My Installer
told me to stick with the Coleman. The Furrion "Hype" made me do otherwise. First the folks at etrailer were great, support was great and they even answered an email Tech. question on a Sunday.
I have a ducted Motorhome. The install went easy, Ducting no. We had to buy a different air box and modify. I have pictures of before and after that I will post. My ducting system runs centerline and the air box(Furrion) supplied directs air to the sides so air box modifications had to be done.
The Coleman has better air flow (CFM) than the FURRION. The nice thing about the Furrion was you could direct the air flow down which pours cold air in the middle of the coach which is nice when everyone is sitting at the table. The Coleman you only have the ducts so cooling a hot motorhome takes longer.
Both make Ducted and Center down units.
The Coleman draws 13a and the Furrion 7a. Because of the low draw I tried running my Honda iu2000 generator and it worked! If it wasnt for being able to direct air straight down, and I just replaced the roof, I would have returned the Furrion and went back to coleman. The RV place that installed mine, called me 2 weeks later and said they installed a Coleman in a rig just like mine and it was Colder. I believe that because the non ducted units puts our alot of air flow, even over the Furrion, I think the Furrion "Chill Cube" name is gimicky but that has nothing to do with etrailer.

I have a 2024 Intech OVR Adventure and the coleman Mach AC unit went out. Seeing that the RV was just over a year old and the unit already kicked the can... I decided to go for a new unit. I did a bunch of research and I initially went with a Turbro Inverter unit 13500BTU. After installation I was severely let down with the volume of air that the unit put out. Even on a mild day in the 70's inside the RV it was 80+ Degrees. They were kind enough to allow a return on the unit and that's when I was recommended to go with the Furrion Chill Cube. Night & Day. This unit puts out a great volume of air and despite a 95+ degree day was able to keep the RV at a consistent 68 degrees inside. Couldn't be happier with the performance of the unit so far.

Love to hear all this, Loren! I could only imagine trying to escape the heat just to be hot in the camper too. May all your days be as cool as possible. Happy camping!

The Furrion 18k chill cube replaced a 12 year old Dometic 15k ac. The Dometic was starting to show its age and having a hard time keeping the cabin cool during super hot days.

The chill cube was very easy swapping out. The footprint of the chill cube is much smaller than the Dometic and considerably lighter.

Everything was easy to swap out and pretty straight forward on what wires to install to what.

The chill cube is definitely than my old one and with turbo fan it helps cool the place down a lot faster. Even in turbo mode the decibel level is negligible. It sounds like a box fan on low, it is audible but after a second or two you stop noticing and can have normal conversations or listen to the tv at a normal level.

The bad part of this system is the furnace hookup. The thermostat purchased has a furnace hookup but it does not work with my style furnace. If you have a furnace with 2 blue wires thats create a loop to start the furnace it will not work. My loop expects to see 12v back to the relay and the thermostat doesn't put out that much voltage to start the furnace.
I just added a heat only thermostat for furnace operation. I would have liked a simplified install and operation of my hvac system but is not a deal breaker.
Other than that I am happy with the ac system. Highly recommended.

by:

Furrion Cube works great. Only downside is the Furrion is not compatible with my Dometic Thermostat so I don’t have a furnace that works anymore.

I am glad the unit itself is working well for you. We have been back and forth with Furrion currently trying to figure out a way to get the furnace to work fluently with that system. What kind of trailer did you install this in?

by:

The Chill Cube works great. It is quieter and much more efficient than my previous air conditioner. the only negative is that the installation instruction are very bad. I tried to follow the installation instructions only to have undo most of my work before proceeding to the next step.

by:

Fast shipping, arrived undammage, easy to install, works great

by:

I ordered a new air conditioning unit for my camper. It was delivered on time with no issues and the new unit works great.
Jake was real good to work with and explained everything to me very well

  • Will a Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner Fit the Some Cutout as a Dometic AC?
Hey Neil. The 18,000 Btu Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner item # LC34DX fits a 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" cutout which is pretty standard on RV's. If you meant to write Dometic instead of domestic then yes it'll fit in your existing cutout. To swap out a Dometic AC with one of the new Furrion Chill Cube units, you'll have to swap out your air distribution box because anything made before 2025 isn't compatible anymore due to the new R32 refrigerant. Since you have a ducted system you will...

  • Will the Furrion Chill Cube Work w/ the Cummins Onan QG 4000i Onboard RV Generator?
Hey Joseph, it sure will. The Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner item # LC34DX is most likely going to be more efficient that what you're currently running. It only pulls 1,330 watts while drawing 11.6 amps. The Furrion Chill Cube item # LC34DX has the new R32 refrigerant, which is far more efficient. Your Cummins Onan QG Generator item # CM42ZR is going to have no problems keeping up with this AC unit. Please note that due to the new R32 refrigerant none of the Chill Cube components...

  • Looking for Replacement RV AC Unit for Carrier in Motorhome
Hey Howard, we could help with a replacement AC unit that would replace the entire setup like with the # LC34DX but if you were looking for something to fit the lower Carrier unit you have now we do not have something for that and you'd have to find a Carrier system.

  • Replacement Furrion Chill Cube to Replace a Coleman A/C
Hey Rick! To swap out your Coleman AC with one of the new Furrion Chill Cube units we have a couple of options for you that include everything you'll need. You have to swap out your Coleman air distribution box because the older stuff isn't compatible anymore due to the new R32 refrigerant. If you have a ducted system you will want the Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w Air Distribution Box item # FR39TD. If you have a ductless system you'll need the Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner...

  • Recommended Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner
Hey Bob! The Chill Cubes like item # LC22BX do not have a heat pump. This may change upon their release but as of 11/18/2024 the answer to that question is going to be no. There's a couple of different options of the Chill Cube as far as ducted and ductless set ups go. The item # LC22BX is designed for a ductless set up. The item # LC34DX is set up to work with ducted systems. So you'll need to decide which way you want to go before purchasing because they won't go both ways. I am not...

  • Will Furrion Chill Cube Fit Ducted Setup Without Air Distribution Box
Hey Trevor! I'm assuming you're asking if this setup will work with the Furrion Chill Cube # LC34DX. At this time, the only way to make it work would be to add in the air distribution box. This is possible, but it will also require a lot of work since you don't already have an opening for an ADB. If you're looking for a replacement AC the best option right now is the Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup # FR42PV. This will plug into your existing setup so you...

  • Can You Use the Heat Strip c-facr15sa-a02 in the Furrion Chill Cube 18,000 BTU?
Hello Michel, The Furrion Heat Strip Add-On for Furrion Air Conditioner - Manual # FR35SR will not work in the new Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner - Ducted - 18,000 Btu - Black - R32 # LC34DX. We are still currently waiting for the heat strip for the Chill Cube to be released. They released the AC first, then we had to wait for the thermostat to be released, and now we are waiting for the heat strip to be released. It would be nice if they could release all these things at one...

  • Is it Okay to Block Off Ducts and Switch to a Ductless AC Unit on an RV?
Hey Jason, thanks for reaching out! It looks like the AC units and distribution boxes are different for both the ducted and ductless configurations. - Ducted # LC34DX - Ductless # FR27TD I reached out to my contact at Lippert, and they said it's not a good idea to block off the duct-work at all because it can void your warranty so I can't recommend going that route. It's also worth noting that the Chill Cube will need to be treated like a fresh new installation because the components...
